Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated on various dates in America. It began as a day and on the preceding year. Similarly named festival holidays occur in Germany and Japan. Thanksgiving is celebrated on the fourth Thursday of November in America. Although Thanksgiving has historical roots in religious and cultural traditions.
In Honduras, Thanksgiving is not that popular as in other countries. This holiday is mostly celebrated in church and in private bilingual schools. Some families have adapted the tradition of celebrating Thanksgiving and have a private and special moment with their families.
In BECA Schools, it is a tradition to celebrate Thanksgiving. Students and teachers always make cards and turkey drawings that go along with Thanksgiving. We also, as BECA teachers as a tradition, make a dinner that Thursday night at one of the schools. Everyone brings a dish to share and we dance and have fun together!
