“It seems like children never jump on me at this school.”

“Vaya pues.” Roughly is translates to “so it goes.” That's the Buddhist-sounding, laid-back attitude I was told to have when I first signed up to work at Santa Monica Bilingual School almost three years ago. Despite all I've learned about lesson planning and classroom management, that advice sticks out as more valuable than any other.
On a recent semana I have to confess
The books came alive here at SMBS
Theme days and activities jumped off the page
Cause our students think reading is all of the rage!
“How long before a 9-year-old suffocates under a pile of children?”
That's my first thought as my students tackle the young boy in the center of my classroom.
Second thought: “Only Kevin could incite such a rock star mosh pit of pouncing 4th graders.”
