A Glimpse of San Jeronimo Bilingual School
A view of the school from the side
The "Pasillo" (hallway between classrooms): What are our teachers perhaps most often heard saying? "No running in the pasillo please!"
Our Playground: As of May 2005, as a result of the generosity of our LeapNow visitors, our students now have a playground that includes monkey bars, two swingsets, a seesaw and some "spinning things."
Older Grade's Classroom: At the beginning of the year, this is what each third grade and up teacher begins with; individual desks, some shelves (not pictured), a dry erase board and concrete walls (not including supplies and resources).
Younger Grade's Classroom: At the beginning of the year, this is what each second grade and younger teacher begins with; tables, some shelves (not pictured), a dry erase board and concrete walls (not including supplies and resources).
The SJBS Band: Music, and especially marching band music are an important part of Honduran culture. Thanks to the generosity of a Honduran politician and several others, our band is well-outfitted with musical equipment!
Glorieta is the spanish word for cafeteria. Dona Nuvia runs our glorieta and makes great tortillas, among other things!

New classrooms for next year: With the addition of eighth grade, and expansion of kindergarten, we're expecting to educate approximately 150 students next year. This expansion will require two additional classrooms, which our Honduran colleagues are in the process of constructing!
Our humble computer lab (with a hodge podge of laptops and desktops, both Mac and IBM). We're always grateful for donations of educational software and quality computer hardware.
Our library: We're happy to have many more books than the public schools, but we desperately need to grow our collection - most especially by expanding the number of books we have in Spanish!
