A “school for and by parents” that provides bi-weekly classes on topics such as nutrition, personal health and hygiene, family budgeting, and supporting a child’s education.
Charla de Padres was created in the same spirit of cultural exchange and community empowerment that BECA was founded upon. Parents meet twice each month to learn from guest speakers, BECA teachers, and from one another, about a variety of subjects. This sharing of knowledge allows for parents and teachers alike to walk away with newfound skills and a deeper understanding about the world they live in.
While Charla schedules are coordinated by BECA volunteers, presenters come from every walk of life and in this manner, the student one week becomes a teacher the next.
